Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what information the Data Repository of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (hereinafter DataverseUA) collects during its use and how we process this information. By using DataverseUA, you acknowledge, agree and accept this Privacy Policy, which is regulated by the M.M. Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which provides administration and support for the Data Repository of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (DataverseUA). The DataverseUA website may contain links to other websites and use third-party applications and/or software. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third parties and you should familiarize yourself with their practices before using them.
A. Information provided by researchers
Information You Provide Voluntarily
When you send a request to post data or a request to create an account at DataverseUA, we store your last name, first name, patronymic, email address, telephone number for communication, name of the institution and your position. In addition, if the guest book function is activated for a certain data set, any information filled in the guest book becomes available to the DataverseUA Administrator and the Curator of the data set.
Information collected during your use of DataverseUA
When you open the web pages of our DataverseUA website in your browser, our web server software creates a connection log file that stores your computer's IP address. These web server logs are stored on a temporary basis and then deleted from our systems. When you download a dataset file from DataverseUA, our software collects user account information, including: your last name, first name, patronymic, user login, email address, institution name, and job title, if provided (or identification information session for guest users) as well as additional download data such as download time. This information is then made available to the Dataverse Administrator and Dataset Curator.
B. Use of Information and Data
We use your IP address and the files you access to help diagnose problems with our server and administer our website by identifying:

     which parts of our site are used the most;
     what part of our audience comes from the nas.gov.ua network.

We also use this information to tailor the content of the site to the needs of users and to create summary statistical reports. We do not disclose information about the use of the site by individual users.

With the exception of data collected during downloads, which is provided only to the owner of the data set, we do not share any personal information we collect about our users with third parties for any purpose unless required to do so by law. Any reports we may provide access to will use aggregated, non-identifiable data.

E. Changes to the Privacy Policy
The M.M. Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine may revise this privacy policy at its own discretion.
